Congratulations and well done to everyone who participated in Hoadley Hide @Home 2020.
Hoadley Hide 2020 was planned to be run at Barry’s Reef Scout Camp, from the 10th to 13th of April, with the theme ‘Exploits on The Goldfields’.
The event was unfortunately cancelled a month out due to the growing Pandemic.
But venturers still needed an initiative course, and we had to find a solution.
The solution was ‘Hoadley Hide @ Home’. An online initiative course run on Discord that required venturers to complete various outdoors and initiative-based tasks, then upload their evidence for assessment.
So how do the numbers stack up?
Hoadley Hide @Home ran for 4 weeks in April/May, and due to high demand, a 5th week was added, running in July.
Because the course was run online, venturers from all over the country were able to take part! In total there were 234 Victorians, 16 Western Australians, 10 Queenslanders, 2 South Australians, and 6 venturers from New South Wales who successfully completed the initiative course.
